It was in the early 1990s that the Namboodiris of Bangalore—though not a sizeable number--felt the need for a common platform to be able to meet, identify and interact with their community members spread over the city. In 1995, Yogakshemam, Bangalore, was registered with the Registrar of Societies, Karnataka, as a non-profitable, social and cultural organisation. Since then, apart from providing members a venue for interaction, its various community development activities have benefited many.
